Here are a few tools to engage your community and elected officials. Take an online class to improve your writing, send a letter to the editor or contact your representatives using these resources. A list of contact information that may be downloaded is below.*

Writing for the Public

Would you like to improve your ability to write persuasive articles, letters to the editor or other pieces intended to be read by the general public? This class, designed and taught by Susan Thistlethwaite, will allow you to do just that. Susan is a Vail Valley resident who has written extensively, including for the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, the Chicago Tribune and the Vail Daily.

Who to Contact

NEWSPAPER EDITORS

Area newspapers that will publish letters of regional interest from Vail Valley and Eagle County residents include the Vail Daily, the Aspen Times, the Aspen Daily News and the Glenwood Springs Independent Post.

ELECTED OFFICIALS

Local and state elected officials who welcome your written comments and thoughts include our County Commissioners and State Representatives. Contact our U.S. Senators or U.S. Congresspeople about current issues that may be addressed at the Federal level.
